  AUB Friends Elias and Adriane Boulos Donate to University    
  -      Mr. Elias and Mrs. Adriane Boulos have generously donated $25,000 to AUB. Mr. and Mrs. Boulos, originally from Maghdoushe, lived in the neighborhood of AUB for more than 50 years. Mr. Boulos considers himself a "Friend of AUB" a term he does not use lightly. To him, "friends are the relatives we choose: they are the true relatives." Mr. Boulos still carries with him a special AUB Visitor's Card which dates to 1958, and signed by then AUB President Crawford.
      Mrs. Bolous is an alumna. Adriane Keuredjian Boulos earned her degree in Nursing from AUB in 1958. She then served with dedication at AUBMC for close to 35 years. Her career as a Registered Nurse started and ended at the maternity section of AUBMC. Adriane's most remarkable contribution was serving in the ER unit throughout the Lebanese strife.
      The donation by Elias and Adriane Bolous is in appreciation of their friendship with AUB. In 		recognition of their loyalty AUB will dedicate a palm tree at the entrance of College Hall and a bench next to the Infirmary in the name of Elias and Adriane Boulos.
      Mr. Boulos values AUB and its noble mission. His long career in journalism includes serving as a former reporter and correspondent for France Press and other European magazines. He was also a banker and a representative of European firms in business conflicts. Mr. Bolous holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, and an MA and PhD in Political Science from Saint Andrews University in the UK. He also holds a number of honorary national awards. He is a Knight-National Order of Cedars, Knight-Holy Land of Jerusalem Order, and Commander-Templars of St. Sepulcher (Germany).
      Mr. and Mrs. Bolous still visit their friends at the AUB campus every week.
