Opening of the FEA chapter's job fair
  Alumni Engineering and Architecture Chapter Job Fair Exhibition    
  -      This year the chapter celebrated FEA's 50th Anniversary with the successful 6th annual Job Fair Exhibition at the covered AUB Athletic Hall on May 16, 17 and 18.
      The opening ceremony was attended by Governor of the City of Beirut Mr. Yakub Sarraf, President of the Order of Engineers Mr. Sobhi Bsat, and the Chargé d'Affaires of the UAE Embassy Mr. Khaled Shuheil.
      Provost Peter Heath, Dean Ibrahim Hajj, Director of Development Dr. Imad Baalbaki and Director of Alumni Affairs Mr. Samir Kadi represented AUB. Also present were Drs. George Ayyub and Albert Kuran, as well as other FEA professors.
      The main purpose of the Job Fair was to create jobs for FEA's graduate engineers and to provide an 		income for a scholarship fund for engineering students. Besides creating jobs for our engineers, President of the Chapter Mr. Sami Alamuddine, presented a $180,000 check to AUB from the revenue of this Job Fair. This amount was added to the $42,000 given to AUB last year.
      The Job Fair was characterized by sizable participation from the Gulf area. Companies from the Gulf participated together with ten local engineering companies who form the backbone of the building industry in Lebanon and who contributed generously to the chapter's budget.
      At least 150 job opportunities to work in the Gulf Area this year compared with 70 offers last year made the results of this year's Job Fair very notable indeed.
