VP Stephen Jeffrey receiving check from FEA Alumni Chapter President Sami Alamuddine
  FEA Alumni Support Scholarship Fund    
  -      During a Gala Dinner at the Bristol Hotel on May 18, AUB was presented with an $18,000 check from the FEA Alumni Chapter. Mr. Stephen Jeffrey, representing Dr. John Waterbury received the check from Chapter President Mr. Sami Alamuddine and Vice-President Mr. Samir Abu-Samra. The dinner, given by the AUB Alumni Engineering and Architecture Chapter, was held at the end of a three-day Job Fair Exhibition at AUB.
      Mr. Alamuddine welcomed the participating companies as well as HE Minister Najib Mikati. He also greeted sponsor of the Job Fair, and Director General of Libancell, Mr. Rifai, and expressed gratitude for their continuing support.
      Mr. Alamuddine thanked Vice President for Development and External Affairs Mr. Jeffrey and his team: namely, Dr. Imad Baalbaki and Mr. Samir Kadi. Together they helped make the Job Fair Exhibition 		a success and created 150 job opportunities for FEA's graduate engineers.
      Mr. Jeffrey then addressed the audience, announcing that in the next 20 years AUB will be developing its technical and educational equipment, along with its research and higher education programs at an estimated cost of $150 million dollars.
      In his speech Minister Mikati expressed appreciation for the continuous effort of the AUB Alumni Engineering and Architecture Chapter in linking the AUB graduates working in the Arab countries to those working in Lebanon. He said that "AUB has nurtured us and we cannot forget our teachers and friends."
      The Alumni Engineering and Architecture Chapter's Scholarship Support Fund for FEA has been running for two years now. A contribution of $42,000 was received last year.
