General Urology is simply a nomenclature that encompasses the general, everyday encountered urological conditions that affect the adult and geriatric population. It includes a spectrum of symptoms, diseases, and diagnoses, that range from problems of blood in the urine to infections in men and women, to obstructions of the urinary tract. Most of these patients are seen in the urologic office and undergo diagnostic and evaluation procedures as outpatients. Also, the field of general urology encompasses everything that does not fall into the subspecialties.
