The center encourages, coordinates, and sponsors interdisciplinary research in behavioral and social sciences and the humanities. It also promotes dissemination of research findings through special work-shops, seminars, and publications.

 Programs and activities of the CBR include international lecture series, bi-weekly discussions, and visiting and pre-doctoral fellowships to expedite contacts and innovative and regional world scholars. The center also sponsors collobrative research and symposia with other universities and foundations and provides stipends for graduate students.
