Under a consultancy contract signed December 2, 1996 by the Al-Zakat Fund at Dar Al Fatwa and AUB, the Department of Health Services Administration (HSA) is assisting in the planning phase of a non-profit hospital in Beirut. Most of the work involves consulting on equipment for the 50-bed hospital, as well as the management of the hospital’s human resources and the administration of its services. The HSA Department is preparing practice guidelines for managing the physical, financial and human resources at the proposed hospital. This includes five areas of Hospital Management: administrative management, information systems, finance, human resources, and technology. Across all these phases, the HSA Department will be involved
in preparing and conducting training sessions on policies and procedures,
as well as in the operation of hospital and health services administration.
Training encompasses resource management including human, financial, materials
and information management.
