EU Simulation ----
LebYouth
The
EU Simulation is a tri-university project that led to the
development of an
action plan covering political, governance, economic, as
well as social reforms. This effort is supported by the
European Union Delegation in Lebanon. Participants in this
project are from AUB, USJ, and LU. The group calls itself
LebYouth and is run by an elected Steering Committee. The
following are the names of the current Steering Committee
members:
Nicolas Assaf (USJ)
Mazen El-Fakhani (AUB)
Randy Nahle (AUB)
Saly Nasreddine (LU)
Jade Said (USJ)
To be elected soon (LU)
Soon after the action plan was developed, it received
widespread support from government officials and the media.
An 8-page supplement about the group entitled
United Voice- Lebanese Youth was published in the Daily
Star. In addition, the group met with the Speaker of
Parliament, Mr. Nabih Berri on July 25, 2005 (Click
here to see picture). Furthermore,
the group presented its Action Plan on September 29, 2005
before the EU Commissioner for External Relations
Benita Ferrero-Waldner at the Ecole Superieure des Affaires
(ESA) in Clemenceau . The group meets once a week now and
is in the process of further developing the Action Plan.
