EU Simulation ---- LebYouth

The EU Simulation is a tri-university project that led to the development of an action plan covering political, governance, economic, as well as social reforms. This effort is supported by the European Union Delegation in Lebanon. Participants in this project are from AUB, USJ, and LU. The group calls itself LebYouth and is run by an elected Steering Committee. The following are the names of the current Steering Committee members:

Nicolas Assaf (USJ)
Mazen El-Fakhani (AUB)
Randy Nahle (AUB)
Saly Nasreddine (LU)
Jade Said (USJ)
To be elected soon (LU)

Soon after the action plan was developed, it received widespread support from government officials and the media. An 8-page supplement about the group entitled United Voice- Lebanese Youth was published in the Daily Star. In addition, the group met with the Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Nabih Berri on July 25, 2005 (Click here to see picture). Furthermore, the group presented its Action Plan on September 29, 2005 before  the EU Commissioner for External Relations Benita Ferrero-Waldner at the Ecole Superieure des Affaires (ESA) in Clemenceau . The group meets once a week now and is in the process of further developing the Action Plan.
