GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS
  1. Submission of Articles
    Articles for publication should be addressed to the Editor-in-Chief, Department of Anesthesiology, American University of Beirut, Beirut, Lebanon. They should be type-written in double space on MS Word document.

    To submit, send an e-mail to: meja@aub.edu.lb.
    The e-mail should contain:
    • Cover page
    • Main article
    • Figures & legends (if any)
    • Tables & legends (if any)
    • A dated signed letter by all authors testifying that the article has not been submitted or published in another journal

  2. Language
    Articles are published in English.

  3. Presentation
    Authors are not limited to any particular style of writing or form. However, they are advised to follow internationally accepted formats: title, name of author and co-authors, authors' department, institution or hospital, introduction, methods and materials, results, discussion, summary, acknowledgement, and references.

  4. References to literature should be indicated by numerals in the text in the form of superscript and listed at the end of the paper in the order of their appearance. Please be accurate, giving the names of all authors and initials, the exact title, the correct abbreviations of the journal, year of publication, volume and page numbers.

    Example: (1) from a journal (2) from a book.
    1. SHAW w: AND ROOT B.: brachial plexus anesthesia:
      Comparative study of agents and techniques. Am. J. Surg.1951; 81: 407, 1951.
    2. ROBINSON. J: S.: Modern trends in anaesthesia, Evans and Gray Ch. 8, Butterworth Pub. Co., London 1967.

  5. Figures should be submitted in JPEG or TIFF format, with a minimum of 150 DPI in resolution; figures can be submitted in either color or grayscale.

  6. Tables should be submitted separately as an MS Excel sheet or MS Word document.
