We are located on the second floor of the Agriculture Bldg. (lower campus). The library houses the biology, chemistry, physics, general science, agriculture, and food science collections.

The AREC Farm Library, located at the AUB farm in Bekaa, houses the agriculture collection of experimental nature for the use of AREC faculty and students.

Access to Resources

All users may access the online library catalog at http://olib.aub.edu.lb/cgi-bin/jl_w207.sh from any computer on or off-campus to search the collection of books, periodicals, microfilm/fiches, theses, projects, etc., available at AUB.
AUB users can access a variety of electronic resources through the Internet or on CD-ROM from the library webpage http://www.aub.edu.lb/~webjafet/. Use of electronic resources is limited to current members of the AUB community with a valid AUBnet account (AUB email account).

Circulation

The library staff help users find their way in the collection and with the computers, provide services related to circulation, reference, and reserve.

Stacks and Reading Area

The main shelving area is divided into two sections, the front section for monographs, and the rear section for bound periodicals. The stacks are open for users, except for closed area materials, which are handled by the library staff. Reference books, shelved around the study tables, are restricted for building use.

Current serials issues are displayed on an array of shelves, separating between the reading area and the main stacks. The display shelves are divided into: General Agriculture, Food Technology and Nutrition, General Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

The reading area at the Science & Agriculture library has seventy-three seats as a QUIET study area, in addition to fourteen seats in the Abstracts room. The Abstracts Room is an inner room where guides and reviews to literature, mainly periodicals literature, are stored.

Computers

There is a number of computers, network and card-operated printers, and a scanner. Photocopy service is available in the library, with a magnetic card dispenser next to them.
