History of the Visitors' Bureau
Main Gate Building, where the Visitors' Bureau is located, under construction in 1902. AUB Visitors' Bureau was inaugurated on May 25, 1999 by an initiative from President John Waterbury. The office is run by more than 20 students under the supervision of Ms. Sana Murad and the Office of Information and Public Relations. The chief concern of the Bureau is to provide campus tours that include a presentation of the history of AUB while walking on campus. Moreover, the university guides survey the various buildings on campus as they come into view mentioning the years of their erections, the reasons behind naming for some, and the departments or centers they contain. However, the role of Visitors' Bureau is not restricted to campus tours, as the working students may assist in different activities such as ushering at university commencement, and the like.
