The ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH, SAFETY AND RISK MANAGEMENT has an opening for the position of OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY OFFICER , above grade 12. Since this provides an opportunity for promotion from within, please circulate this information and/or post it in your area of jurisdiction so that those interested and having the minimum qualifications may apply in writing to the Human Resources Department (Employment Section) not later than December 4, 2008.

I. Basic Functions:

Coordinates and implements EHS&RM requirements at AUBMC. These include life safety, fire protection, environmental health, loss control, accident prevention, industrial hygiene, sanitation, infection control, safety training, inspections, surveys, hazardous material management and disposal, and accreditation related issues.

II. Minimum Requirements:

a.  Master's degree in Engineering, Sciences, Environmental Health, or Public Health.
b.  A minimum of 5 years experience in Health and Safety systems and practices is preferred.
c.  Good knowledge of Computer literacy including Word, Excel, Access and Power Point.
d.  Good communication and presentation skills.
