The American University of
Beirut (AUB), an independent, nonsectarian university, is one of the oldest and
most prestigious universities in the Middle East. The university occupies a beautiful wooded campus overlooking
the Mediterranean Sea, located in a central neighborhood in Beirut. The city

The Faculty of Arts and Sciences
houses 26 academic departments, programs, and centers in three major areas of
study: the humanities, the social sciences, and the basic sciences. It offers

The Whittlesey Visiting Professorship
The Whittlesey Visiting Professorship
The Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the American University of Beirut seeks a recognized scholar of prominent standing in her/his field for appointment as Whittlesey Visiting Professor in the fields of Music and Art to begin September 15, 2008 or February 15, 2009.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to education at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Teaching duties are flexible.
