Reporting Unsafe
Acts and Conditions
Dear Faculty, Staff and
Students,
Please help us to improve
safety at the University by reporting unsafe acts or conditions
which you are unable to correct and which may result in
injury or property damage. If you correct a dangerous situation please
advise us so that we can keep an eye on it and use the
correction in our safety training sessions.
For prompt reporting of
such imminent dangerous situations you can call x2360 on Campus,
x6019 at AUBMC, 03/334306, 08/345151 or x100 at AREC during
working hours. At any time outside working hours, you can call
the protection office at x2400,
the service desk at x2015 for Campus, the VDC Center at x6521
for AUBMC and 03/334306 for AREC. You can also use the telephone or
email
ehsc@aub.edu.lb
to report less urgent dangerous situations.
The importance of prompt
reporting is that it gives us the chance to correct the unsafe
practice or condition before it results in an accident. This
will help us protect people and property. The identity of
persons reporting such matters can be kept confidential upon
request.
Some examples of
situations that pose imminent danger include: slippery or uneven
walking surfaces, possibility of falling objects during work or
construction-unprotected areas beneath construction or repair
activities, being able to see a welding arc, blocking of fire
exits or exit ways such as corridors, gas leaks, flame or heat
source near flammable materials, spills of hazardous materials,
etc.
Your help in assisting us
to be proactive in this important matter will be highly
appreciated.
Thank you.
