David Wrisley
(Ph.D., Princeton) is an Assistant Professor in the Civilization
Sequence Program.
I am a
specialist in medieval European literature and culture, particularly
late medieval France, the court of Burgundy and the Low Countries.
I have
published on hagiography and medieval romance, the history of
translation, Christine de Pisan, epic poetry and medieval travel
literature. I have secondary research interests in the medieval and
pre-modern Maghreb as well as contemporary novels from the southern
and eastern Mediterranean (French and Arabic).
My current book
project concerns the images of the Eastern Mediterranean and Islamic
world in the Library of Burgundy (15th century).
