Participatory Research for Improving Community Health?
Dr. Stephen Fawcett
University Distinguished Professor and Director of the WHO Collaborating Center for Community Health and Development, University of Kansas (KU).

The team at KU has been conducting scientific work to study how collaborative efforts create conditions - changes in communities and systems - to improve population-level outcomes. The team has been working on building a health global resource for capacity building - the 7000 page internet-based Community Tool Box.

Scientific and technical collaboration is underway between KU and the Faculty of Health Sciences; co-learning about community/youth empowerment in the AUB's Youth Mental Health Project in the Burj al-Barajneh Camp, and cultural adaptation and translation of an Arabic version of the Community Tool Box as a capacity-building resource for the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region.
