Reproductive and Mental Health Assessment in Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Camps, Darfur: A Field Experience

Dr. Omer has a Medicine Bachelor and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Kordofan University in Sudan (1999). He will complete his Medical Doctorate in Community Medicine in June 2006. He has an MPH from the Faculty of Health Sciences in AUB (2005). He is currently the Reproductive Health Director, State Ministry of Health, West Darfur- Sudan. His main research interests are women and reproductive health.

The presentation was about a field experience of conducting a survey in IDPs camps in Darfur. The survey was conducted in January 2006 addressing reproductive and mental health of women. Field work, some results, lessons learned will be presented.
