Admissions



Admission to the Master’s Program in Computational Science follows basic AUB regulations.

1.To be admitted as regular students, candidates should fulfill one of the following requirements:
Be holders of a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Business, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and have successfully completed equivalents of AUB courses: CMPS 200, Math 201, Math 202, Math 218 or 219, sufficient maturity in Discrete Mathematics, Math/CMPS 251, STAT 230(233).

Or

Be holders of a Bachelor’s degree and have completed the equivalent of Math 202, STAT 230 and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences core courses requirements for a minor in Computational Science: Math/CMPS 251, Math/CMPS 281, CMPS 212.

2.Some candidates may be admitted as prospective students to the program until full completion of the list of required undergraduate courses.

Quota for student admissions to the program will be based on available Faculty competences required for quality Master’s thesis advising. On the basis of Faculty resources and a rule of advising fixing a maximum of two advisees per Faculty member, the number of admissions during the first years of implementation should be varying between 10 and 15 students.

Normally, candidates admitted to the MS program in Computational Science as regular students will be granted graduate assistantships.
