Most children are referred to a pediatric cardiologist after a heart
murmur has been heard. When the murmur is heard, it doesn't
necessarily mean that the child is suffering from a heart lesion.
Some children also visit a pediatric cardiologist in the case of chest
pain. Just like the heart murmur, the chest pain doesn't necessarily
mean that a heart disease is present.
In the case a heart disease is seen, it can be classified into two
general categories:
1-Congenital Heart Disease (
CHD)
2-Acquired Heart Disease ( AHD)
