AUB Professor Receives Award as Best Arab Researcher

Professor Salim Chahine-best Arab researcher

In April 2008 the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation granted awards to six Arab researchers. Among them was Salim Chahine, associate professor of finance at the Olayan School of Business at AUB, who received an award for the best young Arab researcher in economics, banking, and financial and management sciences.

Chahine has a PhD in finance from the University of Aix-Marseille III and his field is mainly in corporate finance and corporate governance. He has publications in refereed and internationally recognized academic journals, such as the Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, and his research was featured in several international conferences.

The Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation, which was founded in 1978 by the Arab Bank, is one of the largest Arab and international financial institutions. The foundation supports and enhances scientific research and Arab humanistic creativity, builds bridges of dialogue and cultural communication, and collects and disseminates general knowledge by all feasible means.
