In a celebration that has become an annual tradition at AUBMC, 164 employees who have completed 25, 20, 15, and 10 years of service at the medical center were honored in an award ceremony for their long term commitment and dedication to the institution.

Colleagues, friends, and family joined award recipients on June 3, 2008 at Issam Fares Hall for an award ceremony which included speeches thankful to their devotion to the medical center in good and bad times.

The speeches were given by the Director of Human Resources of AUBMC, Dr. Dania Baba; Director of the Medical Center Munthir Kuzayli; Vice President for Medical Affairs and the Raja N. Khuri Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Nadim Cortas; President of the AUB Staff and Workers Syndicate Abdallah Faour; and Vice President for Human Resources James Radulski.

"Your commitment and service to the medical center has ensured its continuity, especially in times of crises, such as the recent one during early May 2008 and the July 2006 war," said Dean Cortas. "Without you, the medical center would not have accomplished what it has so far."

Director Kuzayli equally thanked the awardees for their years of service, and reiterated that they were very successful in achieving the mission and goals of the institution.

Organized by AUBMC Human Resources office, the Service Award Ceremony was coordinated by Tamara Dakessian Nassar, Employee Performance Manager at AUBMC, who was also the master of ceremonies. "I have been coordinating this event since I joined the medical center five years ago," said Dakessian Nassar.

Following the speeches, honorary pins were distributed to the awardees from 40 AUBMC departments. This year 82 employees were recognized for 10 years of service, 47 for 15 years of service, 15 for 20 years of service, and 20 for 25 years of service.
