February 14, 2005, the unforgettable day of the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafic Hariri and his entourage. Who can forget the scenes broadcast on the news—especially the man who was burning all over, who threw himself out of the car in an attempt to save his life? That man was Mazen El Zahabi, a former AUB Medical Center nurse, who traveled to the Arab countries to earn a living, who came back to continue his degree, plan a family, and live in luxury. He worked hard to fulfill his dreams, never giving up hope, not even during his last minutes of survival. On March 5, the Nursing Order and all the colleagues of Mazen gathered at his grave to pray for his soul. Mazen, we will never forget your courageous character, which struggled for life while performing your nursing duty that day. May your soul and the souls of all the martyrs rest in peace. Grace Nasr BSN IV, SON NSS Treasurer
