Electronic Plagiarism

About this Web Site

Since the start of the World Wide Web, and especially in the last five years, universities all over the world have been dealing with the very old problem of plagiarism by educating their faculty members and their students on academic integrity in more forceful and practical ways. The American University of Beirut (AUB) is no exception to this rule, and both the administration and the faculty members have been engaged in ways to combat plagiarism on our campus. Towards this purpose, the Academic Computing Center (ACC) has launched this web site with information and links to resources on plagiarism, focusing particularly on copy-and-paste plagiarism from the World Wide Web.

During the many hours spent developing the web pages that make up the site--reading and selecting from the vast amount of material on plagiarism currently available online--the center strove constantly to provide practical material for the AUB community. We hope this web site will be of interest to all.
