Web Conferencing at AUB

Web Conferencing is used to conduct live meetings  or presentations over the Internet. In a Web  Conference, each participant sits at his or her own  computer and is connected to other participants via  the Internet.

Web Conferencing has many potential uses, including consultations with research partners, contact with students or colleagues when abroad, and interviews with prospective faculty or staff. Seminars, workshops and conferences are also possibilities.

The Academic Computing Center (ACC) currently offers you the opportunity to conduct Web Conferencing either from your home or from ACC lab. Through an agreement with the National Institute for Technology and Liberal Education (NITLE), AUB has gained access to a virtual MIV 'room' with 10 'seats' and a common whiteboard which supports the sharing of images, PowerPoint presentations, PDF and other files. Participants can view, discuss and manipulate these visual components during the Web Conferencing, in addition to viewing and hearing each other.

  • Due to bandwidth issues it is best to use Web Conferencing during the afternoon if you wish to connect from the ACC computer Lab.
