  Description and Uses

E-mail
is the most well known and frequently used Internet tool.  In the Academic environment e-mail can facilitate and increase the interaction between students and instructors.  It can be used to send and receive class assignments, distribute class communications, and provide exam grades.  In foreign language classes it allows students to communicate with native speakers in other countries, practice communicating in a foreign language, and learn about other cultures.
Microsoft Outlook is an e-mail management tool that allows easy exchange manipulation, and organization of messages in your computer.  Outlook allows creation of mail rules and archiving of messages.  In addition, Outlook offers features such as the 'calendar,'  'journal,' and 'sticky notes', which help you keep track of your daily appointments and tasks.
