  Description and Uses

Adobe Acrobat
includes two distinctive tools: the Writer and the Reader.  The Reader can be downloaded from the Internet for free and  allows you to 'read' PDF (Portable Document Format) files.  The Writer allows you to save various types of files (text, images, and so on) as PDF files.   The process of saving a file in PDF format is very useful because it keeps intact the format and style information of the original document.  In addition, it does not allow editing of its content.  This makes PDFs ideal for Web pages and for file exchange by e-mail and other electronic means.
