specific courses.
The three
components of the seminar are:
- Syllabus
Design
- Instructional Technologies
- Information Literacy
Comments of the Participants

About
the Seminar |
“It was a great well-organized workshop, informative, new in
certain perspectives as using Moodle and updating in other
perspectives as writing a detailed course syllabus and be
familiar with more channels in library resources.
The timing of 6 weeks is good for this workshop. Individual
appointments were very helpful as each was able to ask about
his/her specialty related needs through development of the
course on Moodle.” - Efat Abou Fakhr

About
the
Instructional Technologies
component |
“My aim is to make the students like the material we are
teaching and to improve substantially their knowledge and
desire to learn more. Moodle has several tools that help me
in delivering the materials and discussions to students some
of which may attract one student interest better than
another tool and vice-versa.” - Anonymous

“The presence of different library resources at AUB
libraries has facilitated adding different types of
exercises for the students of my course.” -

About
the
Syllabus Design
component
|
“I learned to articulate course goals much more explicitly
(difficult task but essential) to make assessment much more
tied to course goals and learning outcomes from the very
beginning. This makes assessment much easier and useful in
a way. To think through the purpose of the syllabus and the
presentation of it as a document to question assumptions
about the "old" course to be more conscious of the students'
experience of the course (apart from my own aspirations for
it).” - Anonymous

About
Moodle |
“Moodle is a
user-friendly tool and I hope that our students would like
it also. Maybe a survey should be addressed to students at
AUB who have taken their courses through Moodle. Another
issue that I would like to point at is the cooperative quick
help from Moodle Team whenever I asked a question on the
phone and got the problem solved.” - Efat
