The number of students applying to nursing has increased by 31 percent and 21 percent of students enrolled were from schools visited by HSON recruitment team during the last two years. Future student recruitment plans were also presented to attract and retain new potential candidates. These plans included the meetings for student counselors on an annual basis, continuous school visits with the participation of nursing students to explain more about their experience and success stories, newsletter to be sent every semester to student counselors and interested students, inviting interested students to HSON student-related events and HSON faculty participated in the meeting to present their own experience in the nursing profession.

During the last two years and after HSON experience in school visits for student orientation about the nursing programs at AUB, many student counselors expressed the need to know more about nursing. This would help them to counsel and advise students to think of nursing as a career. Student counselors were curious to know about the variety of work and career opportunities in nursing and they needed to have updated information about the new nursing programs offered, admission requirements to HSON, new scholarships and other related news.
