Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences

Welcome to FAFS

The Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences (FAFS) was established in 1952 on AUB's main campus in Beirut and was modeled on the US land-grant college system. FAFS however, broke away from the land-grant model by diversifying its academic portfolio to respond to the needs of rural and urban societies through the introduction of new academic programs with diverse disciplines of agribusiness, agriculture, food science and management, landscape design and ecosystem management, nutrition and dietetics, and veterinary sciences. The culture of FAFS has also evolved; we are no longer a school that only teaches how to grow food; instead, we have positioned ourselves at the intersection of nature and human wellbeing across Lebanon and the Middle East.
