Please keep in mind that PhD students do not pay tuition, instead they will sign a contract with the university whereby they will receive a monthly stipend in return for their services in teaching and research.

Concerning requirements for PhD admissions to AUB:

• Official university transcripts (All levels)
• 3 recommendation letters (Form 5 of the application)
• GRE is required for all programs (PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology and PhD in Theoretical Physics requires GRE Subject Tests in addition to the GRE general test
• Written Statement of Purpose   
• Portfolio (if available)
• English Language Proficiency Requirement (for non AUB graduates): A score of 550 on the English Entrance Examination (EEE), or 600 on the paper-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), or 250 on the computer-based TOEFL or 97 on the Internet-based TOEFL, is required for admission of new applicants to graduate study, or prospective graduate study, from recognized institutions of higher education
  AUB Graduates or graduates from US/UK/CANADA/AUSTRALIA are exempted
• $50 US application fee. 

Deadline to apply for the Fall Semester 2012-2013 is February 20, 2012.

Deadline to apply for the Spring semester 2012-2013 is November 15, 2012.

Applicants wishing to apply to AUB for a PhD, must do the following:

1- Download the application form (Application for PhD)
2- Fill the application.
3- Include the following documents in the application:
     Photocopy of ID or passport
     Passport size photo
     Official University Transcripts
     3 Recommendation Letters
     Written Statement of Purpose
     Portfolio (if available)
     GRE scores (General and Subject where needed)
