The faculty offers the MS degree, with or without thesis, in the following majors: agricultural economics, agricultural extension (not offered at present), animal sciences, food technology, irrigation, mechanization, nutrition, plant protection, plant science, poultry science, and soil science. The faculty also participates in the interfaculty graduate programs leading to the degrees of MS in Environmental Sciences (major: Ecosystem Management) and MS in Nutrition.
Students following a thesis program are required to take a minimum of 21 graduate level course credits plus a thesis. No thesis program should include more than 3 tutorial course credits with core regular courses constituting a minimum of 12 credits excluding seminars and tutorials. A student following a non-thesis program is required to take a minimum of 33 graduate level course credits. The program should include a minimum of 3 credits and a maximum of 6 tutorial credits with at least 12 credits being from core courses in the major.

Deadlines
Early applications received by the Office of Admissions prior to the deadlines stated below (and indicated on the Application Form) are reviewed and the departments and the Graduate Studies Committee render decisions normally within six weeks. Potential students are given one month to decide on accepting admissions and assistantships or they may lose the latter.
- Applications for admission to graduate study should be received by the following dates of every year for early consideration:
- April 1 for summer or fall admissions.
- November 1 for spring admission.
- Applications received after the deadline of April 1 will be considered on a rolling basis, but not beyond July 31 for fall admission and May 31 for summer admission. Applications for spring admission will not be considered beyond November 1.
- Applications are considered complete upon receipt of at least two letters of recommendation from professors or supervisors of the applicants, and an official transcript covering at least the end of the first semester of the senior year or its equivalent.
- All applications may include an application for graduate assistantships if desired. All applications for graduate assistantships received at a later date (rolling-basis) will be considered, pending availability.
- Admission decisions of every year are to be announced along with grants of graduate assistantships by the following dates:
- May 15 for summer or fall admissions
- December 15 for spring admission.
AUB Graduate Assistantships (GA) The University provides fellowships covering partial or full tuition and a small stipend for students at the graduate level in return for a specified number of work hours per week in an academic department. Recipients are selected on the basis of their academic record and departmental needs.
New applicants wishing to apply for a graduate assistantship (GA) should complete the GA application form (included in the graduate admission application form) and submit it together by April 30 to the AUB Admissions Office at the following address:
