The best popular magazine that deals with IPE
issues is The Economist, which can be found on the web at
http://www.economist.com
In every issue they have a one page summary of
recent developments in economics. Their periodic "surveys," which cover topics
such as globalization or the Asian currency crisis, are invaluable
introductions.
The best single newspaper for following events in
IPE is The Financial Times, which can be found on the web at
http://news.ft.com/world
The FT is a particularly good place to keep track
of what is happening at G-7 summits, debates within the IMF, etc. They too
produce periodic "Surveys" but they tend to focus on the economies of particular
countries or industries, eg., "energy" or "Turkish telecommunications."
The major academic journal for the study of IPE is
still International Organization, although there are old (World
Politics) and new (Review of International Political Economv)
competitors. It is available in electronic form through the Jafet library's
access to the JSTOR database.
There are also a number of top-flight economists
who maintain webpages dealing with IPE. The most important are probably:
Nouriel Roubini's Asian Crisis Webpage:
