Hassan Krayem

Short Biography

Hassan Krayem was an Assistant professor of political science at the
American University of Beirut from 1990-1998 and a lecturer from 1999 to the present. He has an MA and a PhD from University of Southern California with specialty in comparative politics with a focus on Arab politics and political and economic development. He has worked since 1995 as a consultant with ESCWA, UNDP and other International organizations such as International IDEA on subjects like democratization, electoral systems, good governance and urban good governance in the Arab World. He has joined UNDP Lebanon as a Policy Specialist on March 2000. His portfolio includes managing more than eleven projects with the Lebanese government, Lebanese municipalities and with NGOs on financial, economic, political and administrative reforms as well as regional and local development. In the previous 15 years he has participated in various national, regional and international conferences presenting papers or discussing papers on economic, social and political affairs in the Arab World.
