Lebanon on the academic year in universities.

The Daily Star of December 8 published an article
addressing democracy at AUB, which received $ 1.8 million
from the US Congress this year, and where Hizbullah party
members and supporters operate one of the largest student
clubs under the name Cultural Club of the South. The article
interviewed AUB students and faculty members, including Dr.
Maroun Kisirwani, dean of students, who said that there is
little the university can do to make students tone down
anti-Americanism and that American policy is forcing them to
hate America. Associate Provost, Waddah Nasr, said that AUB
is the best argument for democracy.
