CAMES Affiliates

CAMES regularly hosts researchers working on doctoral or post-doctoral research. The position of affiliate at CAMES simply provides researchers with a base at AUB while conducting their research. CAMES can provide computer, email and Internet access, and an ID card to enter the campus and the library. To borrow books from the library, affiliates will need to pay an extra fee, and CAMES does not offer offices or stipends to affiliates.

To request an affiliation with CAMES, the following documents are required:

1. A letter or email to the CAMES director, Professor Nadia El-Cheikh, requesting an affiliation with CAMES and specifying the start and end dates of the affiliation.

2. A research proposal (a few pages long).

3. For graduate students, a reference letter from the advisor or another faculty member. For professors, a reference letter from the department chair or a colleague.

4. A curriculum vitae.

We require that our affiliates give our graduate students an informal "Brown
Bag" lecture about their research, and also that they contribute a 200 word
description of their research to the CAMES student Newsletter. Please note
that the affiliation can be renewed only once.
